This position is an entry level drafting position for a CAD Technician. The job calls for providing assistance to engineering and design staff in the preparation of contract engineering drawings and other related engineering materials. Position requires a fundamental understanding of drafting practices and drawing presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop piping system layouts including pipe spacing, fitting makeup, valve locations, and in‐line components in 2D drawings from sketches and catalog cut sheets provided by engineers and senior design staff
  • Develop 2D Process Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and Piping Flow Diagrams
  • Generate 3D Models of piping systems, Equipment and Structural components.
  • Coordination of drawing production activities between all disciplines at the project level
  • Provide quality checking of drafted products and conformance with drawing production standards and project specific CAD requirements

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated self-starter, results-driven and teamwork oriented
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail oriented, organized and have good follow-up skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the development of 2D process mechanical design drawings and of 3D process-piping systems.
  • General understanding of structural design and the interface between structural components and process mechanical equipment and piping
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of engineering drawing development
  • Associate degree in Design and Drafting

Pay Range

$24.00 to $28.00/hr. annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
