Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Design Manager with extensive experience in process-piping design and a strong working knowledge of multidisciplinary design concepts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Revit, Civil 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) – along with proven expertise in piping systems and their integration across large, complex projects.

 

The BIM Design Manager plays a key role in shaping how BIM influences project workflows, deliverables, and management processes. This individual will lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of corporate BIM standards, as well as establish a strategic roadmap for full BIM integration and quality assurance across all projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the BIM Execution Plan (BxP) template to align with project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead the creation, management, and coordination of BIM models, including 3D modeling, clash detection, and model validation.
  • Create and manage Revit models while mentoring design staff on efficient and standardized modeling techniques.
  • Troubleshoot Revit, AutoCAD, ACC, and Navisworks Manage issues to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Establish and optimize workflows across Revit, ACC, and Navisworks Manage environments.
  • Develop systems to maintain and manage BIM Models throughout the facility lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate all design elements into a coordinated BIM environment.
  • Provide technical guidance on process piping design and BIM implementation to internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Review and audit BIM models for compliance with corporate standards, codes, project specifications, and client requirements.
  • Lead BIM coordination meetings to identify, communicate, and resolve design conflicts.
  • Implement and continuously improve BIM best practices, standards, and processes across all disciplines.
  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on BIM tools, workflows, and interdisciplinary design integration.
  • Monitor project milestones, model quality, and BIM performance metrics – reporting regularly to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience with BIM management and piping design, including proficiency in Revit, ACC, and Navisworks Manage.
  • Strong knowledge of piping layout, design principles, and installation practices.
  • Working knowledge of civil, structural, and MEP design principles.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and manage large, multi-discipline BIM projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and BIM best practices, including the BIMForum Level of Development (LOD) Specification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the detailed design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency with advanced BIM technologies and automation tools such as IMAGINiT Clarity, Dynamo, or Python scripting.
  • Experience with LiDAR scanning, Autodesk ReCap, and point cloud integration.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in engineering design or BIM coordination.
  • Professional BIM certification or equivalent credentials.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical

Pay Range

$120,640 to $131,040 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
