Overview

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. As a critical member of our growing communications team, the Lead Graphic Designer will support the development and execution of visual content across all communications platforms, helping to elevate our brand and engage key stakeholders. The individual will collaborate with the Communications team, Art Director, and other departments to create compelling and cohesive visual materials for both internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

Design and Development:

  • Create visually engaging content, including brochures, infographics, presentations, social media graphics, email templates, website assets, and reports that align with the company’s brand and communication goals.
  • Develop and maintain consistent design standards that reinforce our company’s visual identity across all communication channels.
  • Work closely with the Communications team and internal stakeholders to understand project objectives and translate them into visually appealing and effective designs.
  • Develop visual communications that improve the employee experience, including internal newsletters, onboarding materials, and employee recognition programs. See that all internal communications are engaging, inclusive, and reflect Carollo’s culture and values.
  • Partner with the Communications and Marketing teams to support integrated campaigns and initiatives.
  • Provide creative input during brainstorming sessions and contribute to the overall communications strategy.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure that all visual assets align with our company’s brand guidelines and contribute to building a strong and consistent brand presence.
  • Collaborate with Communications personnel to develop creative concepts and visual strategies for campaigns and initiatives.
  • Serve as a brand steward, guiding internal teams and external vendors in adhering to established visual standards.
  • Create a library of branded templates (e.g., social media posts) that can be used by designers and marketers across the company.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on design trends, industry standards, and software updates so that that our communications materials remain fresh and engaging.
  • Explore and recommend new tools, design approaches, and mediums that could enhance the effectiveness of our communications efforts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a graphic designer, preferably within a corporate communications or marketing environment.
  • Proven ability to create a wide range of digital and print design assets.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and other relevant design tools.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with non-design stakeholders to translate complex ideas into simple, engaging visuals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality work.
  • Understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, color theory, and composition.
  • Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and creativity.
  • A creative problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in corporate communications or water engineering industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of video editing or animation software.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including digital and print projects.

Pay Range

$35.00 to $40.00/hr. annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
