We are seeking a Senior GIS/Data Management Analyst to assist multiple water agencies including a long-term, client-facing project based in Washington DC. The position includes architecting enterprise GIS data schema with the goal of integrating GIS with other asset management systems (e.g. CityWorks), condition assessment, hydraulic modeling, and customer information management systems. This position requires proficiency in the data requirements gathering, ESRI platform (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder, dashboards), SQL Server, utility networks, and demonstrated knowledge of GIS data processing and analysis.

This position is hybrid at our office in Arlington, VA. Candidates will need to be onsite in the Arlington office a few days per week.  

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated professional experience creating and maintaining enterprise geodatabases in SQL Server environment.
  • Demonstrated professional experience gathering data requirements to develop geospatial data architecture critical to improving, maintaining, and integrating GIS with other business systems.
  • Familiarity with ESRI Utility Network schema.
  • Attend virtual and in-person meetings with clients.
  • Provide technical geospatial guidance and mentoring to junior GIS and engineering staff.
  • Working knowledge of coordinate system projections and datum transformations.
  • Able to work with minimal direction and minimal supervision to produce engineering documents and related material.
  • Produces high-quality map products for reports and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure planning, modeling, and design.
  • Basic understanding of converting data between MicroStation, AutoCAD, and GIS.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated professional experience developing enterprise geospatial data management schema architecture.
  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, or related field.
  • Understanding and experience with ESRI Utility Network schema.
  • Understanding of GIS Software/IT coordination
  • Experience managing project tasks for small number of GIS staff.
  • Ability to multitask and manage high quality deliverables on multiple projects
  • Hands-on experience managing large GIS projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • GISP or Esri ArcGIS Utility Network Associate Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, water, wastewater, or stormwater industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cityworks, Maximo, WAM, and other CMMS/asset management systems preferred.
  • Python programing or FME experience a plus.
