Entry Level Civil Engineer

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Site Civil Engineer to assist in design and construction of municipal water and wastewater projects for our clients.

• Performing civil engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure, focused on site design project components including site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving and grading, and stormwater infrastructure
• Conceptual and preliminary design activities including preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
• Hydraulic calculations and/or modeling
• Permitting and alternative analysis
• Assist with coordinating sub-consultant work
• Review shop drawings for conformance with contract plans and specifications 
• Participate in field activities and site reconnaissance

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering 
• 2 to 4 years of directly-relevant experience in civil/site development
• Engineer-in-Training Certification (EIT) 
• Experience with developing working drawings for civil site plans (layout, piping, grading, drainage, and paving) 
• Ability to develop site/civil plans from sketches (determines scales, layout, and need for specific detail)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; Communicate effectively with clients and project team 
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Experience with site civil/land development projects
• Experience with local utility codes and utility permitting process
• Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic calculations/modeling software for stormwater management (StormWise™, InfoSWMM, HEC-RAS).
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience with Environmental Resource Permits
