Overview

Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Mid-Level Architect to work with our existing architectural team on projects throughout the country. Our architecture is industrial in nature, typically housing water or wastewater process areas, electrical rooms, or materials needed for the process areas. As part of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.

Responsibilities

  • Research, program, plan, and design for technical development, coordination, design development and construction document phases
  • Collaborate with project design team for programming, planning, and feasibility analysis
  • Resolve technical questions and/or details for field and office staff
  • Assist with code review and interpretation including agency review comments
  • Fill the role of Lead Architect for project activities related to project technical documentation including contract documents, specifications, design CAMP®, team and client meetings and coordination with QA/QC review team
  • Coordination of project elements with internal and external team members
  • Assist with Quality Control and Quality Management by reviewing projects that are internal or external
  • Assist team with Cost Estimates and Constructability Reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
  • Registered Architect, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months of start date
  • NCARB Certificate, active status
  • Minimum of six (6) years of architectural experience with these types of projects or delivery
  • Understanding and knowledge of building codes, and building construction, building systems, and site requirements
  • High attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous consulting experience
  • Water/wastewater or industrial experience
  • Ability to be seek architect registration (reciprocity) in multiple jurisdictions
