Carollo Engineers is a nationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Client Service Manager to support Carollo's vision of becoming the best water consulting firm in the United States. As part of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the client service manager or project manager on the planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of water and/or wastewater treatment projects of various sizes (small, medium, and large)
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, supervise, and review the work of the project team, which may include: environmental, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineers; drafters, technicians; technical experts; subconsultants, and others who assist with specific assignments. For large and/or complex projects, may work closely with a design manager to achieve this.
  • Maintain full responsibility over project decisions and quality standards
  • Apply acute technical and project delivery knowledge to advise clients throughout the project life cycle
  • Meet budget, schedule, and quality goals
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, plans and specifications, cost estimates, and other deliverables
  • Maintain a culture of effective communication among project teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
  • Be active in professional associations, including attendance and participation in local, regional, and national conferences
  • Partner with local business development teams to identify project opportunities and assist with business development activities, including, but not limited to proposal preparation, scope and fee preparation, and interview participation.
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts
  • Participate in field activities, such as site visits
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring of project staff and entry to mid-level engineers
  • Travel may be required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • 15+ years of experience in planning, design, and/or construction of water/wastewater treatment projects
  • Experience delivering and managing water/wastewater treatment projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards
  • Business development experience
  • Established client relationships
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problems
  • Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Highly motivated and self-starting
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California and/or Hawaii
